Directed by Kazem Mollaee, the feature film is about a woman named Soudeh who lives with her son in an old apartment.

Soudeh’s 11-year-old son, Matiar, gets kidnapped as she is about to start a second marriage. After considerable search and effort, Soudeh decides to ask for the ransom money from her ex-husband, Peyman. How much will this incident challenge her certainties?

The flick recently won the Best Narrative film award at the 27th Austin Film Festival as well as the grand prize for the best foreign feature at the 29th Berkeley Video & Film Festival, both in the US.

The Iranian feature is also the winner of a nomination for best film award at the 13th Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival in the US.

Born in 1945, the Salerno festival aims to promote culture through cinema.

The 2020 edition of the event will be held online, due to the coronavirus outbreak, on December 7-12.
